Lunar nomenclatures

The mapping of the Moon’s surface is not enough, since it has to be named. In the “race to the Moon”, in which the first selenographers participate, the question on the nomenclature is essential. Before attributing names of princes and philosophers to the craters, the interpretation of the Moon needs to be well established by understanding what are exactly the formations. Nomenclature is particularly important in order to distinguish the structures that composes the lunar surface by determining the exact nature.
